309 Coffee is currently looking to hire an Assistant Manager to help with administrative tasks and support the Shop Manager role in overall day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

Barista

• Quickly and kindly welcomes all customers, vendors, and team members
• Serve coffee/espresso drinks and prepared foods to guests in a friendly and outgoing manner
• Maintain high quality in all products, aiming for excellence through dialing in of espresso machine, efficient drink prep, latte art, and knowledge of proper serving specs
• Keep service area neat and clean throughout shift
• Be an outstanding and supportive coworker to your fellow baristas.
• Provides superior customer service at every point of interaction
• Take customer orders and receive payment through Square interface

Operations

• Be a utility player who can complete a variety of job duties
• Assist shop manager in the day-to-day operations of the cafe
• Play a key role in inventory management, being responsible for the ordering of goods and consumables
• Communicate with vendors/management to facilitate in the maintenance of all business relationships
• Play a key role in maintaining a functional, efficient, pleasant store environment and high-quality food and beverage offerings
• Assist Shop Manager in the planning, organizing and execution of events, including those that occur on a regular basis (like trivia), participation in community events, and rental for private events

Quality of Product & Environment

• Ensure that all company and store standards, guidelines, and procedures are being followed
• Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functionality, communicating any malfunctions immediately to the Shop Manager
• Ensure all cafe areas are clean, tidy and align with all health codes
• Assist Shop Manager in regular equipment maintenance. Utilizes resources and available information to troubleshoot when equipment errors occur.
• Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation

Requirements

• 1-2 years of barista with professional coffee machines
• Experience with inventory management and health code compliance
• Ability to self manage during down times with little or no direction
• Availability to work within opening hours (including weekends and holidays)
• Excellent communication and administrative skills
• Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, able to work in a fast-paced coffee shop whilst providing excellent customer service
• High school diploma
• Food Handler and TABC certified, or willingness to get certified immediately upon hire

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
