2H Talent LLC is Hiring a Mechanical Estimator Near Boston, MA

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our projects by accurately estimating the costs associated with mechanical systems. You will work closely with our project management and engineering teams to analyze project specifications, prepare cost estimates, and ensure that our proposals align with client requirements and budget constraints

Responsibilities:

  • Project Analysis: Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand the scope of work, materials required, and project timelines.
  • Cost Estimation: Utilize estimating software and historical data to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare detailed bid proposals that clearly outline the scope of work, cost breakdown, and any value engineering recommendations to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services, negotiate pricing agreements, and ensure timely delivery of materials to support project schedules.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates and develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project profitability.
  • Client Communication: Interface with clients to clarify project requirements, address any inquiries regarding cost estimates, and participate in client meetings and presentations as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, market pricing, and technological advancements to enhance estimating processes and maintain competitiveness in the market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator or similar role in the construction or engineering industry.
  • 10 years of experience in industrial construction with a broad understanding of the company’s main self-performed trades: millwrighting, pipefitting, rigging, etc.
  • Experience with overall ground-up construction through completion for both building and industrial projects
  • Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office Suite. Ability to learn to use MC^2, Planswift, AutoCAD and ISQFT.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
