Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team. As a Construction Superintendent, you will oversee and manage all aspects of on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Your leadership, expertise, and dedication to quality workmanship will be instrumental in delivering successful projects that exceed client expectations and uphold our company’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage on-site construction activities for assigned projects, including scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, managing resources, and ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety on the job site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, protocols, and procedures. Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and training sessions to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of workmanship and materials, conducting inspections and implementing quality control measures to ensure that construction meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and identify potential delays or obstacles. Take proactive measures to mitigate schedule risks and maintain project timelines.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Provide regular updates, address inquiries, and resolve issues to maintain positive relationships and ensure project success.
  • Budget Control: Monitor project costs, labor expenses, and material usage to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to optimize project profitability.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve construction-related issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner. Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative solutions and overcome obstacles to project success.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress photos, change orders, and as-built drawings. Ensure that all documentation is complete, organized, and readily accessible for project review and audit purposes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar leadership role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, techniques, and materials, with expertise in commercial and industrial construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate project teams.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to the construction industry.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
