Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team. As a Registered Nurse - Oncology, you will provide specialized care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to the overall well-being and comfort of our patients.
Duties:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing symptoms related to cancer treatment
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assessments to monitor the progress of patients
- Educate patients and their families about cancer treatments, side effects, and self-care measures
- Assist in procedures such as phlebotomy and venipuncture
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record systems such as Epic
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of care across different settings, such as ambulatory surgery centers and intensive care units
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an oncology setting
- Proficiency in providing dementia care and managing complex medical conditions
- Experience with phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation techniques in oncology
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
