Duration: Long term Contract
Location: Dallas, TX, 75202
Pay rate: $ 28.00 per hour on w2
Job Description:
  • Responsible for serving as a human resource liaison and providing guidance and assistance to customers, supervisors, and managers based on policies, procedures, and guidance issued by the Agency.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring customer responses or cases are resolved accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Assists employees with an array of questions on various HR areas, including but not limited to Benefits, Employee & Labor Relations, Talent, Employee Engagement, Employee Success, and Organizational Development.
  • Responsible for performing various Human Resource functions, including overseeing the employee service awards, wellness program, benefits, retirement, employment verification, and all agency employee events.
  • Responsible for assisting in maintaining and reporting monthly metric information on people center activity.
  • Collects, sorts, and distributes division mail and collects and processes mail.
  • Handles multiple tasks assigned with excellent organizational skills to prioritize work.
  • Works independently as well as with other team members to accurately complete all assignments by established deadlines.
  • Frequently refers problems and work issues to the manager or team lead when guidance is unavailable or applicable.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of meetings between management and other officials, prepares agendas, takes notes, and prepares minutes of such meetings if assigned.
  • Maintain accurate section spreadsheets and assist with the Wellness Program incentives and Service Awards.
  • May assist supervisor with the research of applicable policies and related laws.
  • Receives and greets visitors and guests.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.
Required Skills:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in human resources or related office environments.
  • Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate department's non-revenue vehicles.
  • Proficiency of PC software applications to include Microsoft Office or other related software applications.
  • Analytical and creative skills to find solutions to complex interpersonal, technical and administrative problems.
  • Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services. Acts with customers in mind. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect.
  • Ability to marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done. Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal. Uses resources effectively and efficiently. Arranges information and files in a useful manner.
  • Ability to use his/her time effectively and efficiently. Values time. Concentrates his/her efforts on the more important priorities. Gets more done in less time than others. Can attend to a broader range of activities.
  • Ability to enjoy working hard. Is action oriented and full of energy for the things he/she sees as challenging. Not fearful of acting with a minimum of planning. Seizes more opportunities than others.
