Middle School Math Teachers

GEO 21st Century Charter School in Gary is seeking highly motivated and experienced Middle School Math Teachers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in mathematics. As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging learning environment for our students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and state standards
• Use a variety of teaching methods to engage students and promote critical thinking skills
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in education
• Communicate regularly with parents
• Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferences
• Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff

Requirements

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Education (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid Indiana Professional Educator or Initial Practitioner certification in Mathematics (Substitute lIcense not accepted)
• Experience teaching middle school students
• Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts and ability to explain them in a clear and concise manner
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
• Strong organizational and time management skills
