Condominium Association Doorman / Valet

Currently Seeking Experienced Doormen for Relief Shift, Non-Union

Nestled in the heart of Chicago, our prestigious condominium association is an example of luxury and exclusivity. With fewer than 30 units, our tightly knit community prides itself on its tenured staff and impeccable service standards. We are seeking a dedicated and professional Doorman to become an integral part of our esteemed team, providing unparalleled service to our astute residents.

The role of the doorman is not only to greet and assist owners, but also to park and retrieve their vehicles for them. A driver's license is required.

As the face of our association, the Doorman sets the tone for the resident and guest experience. This role demands a perfect blend of hospitality, security, and professionalism. Key responsibilities include:

1. Warmly greeting and assisting residents and guests upon arrival and departure.

2. Managing parking and retrieval of vehicles with precision and care.

3. Supervising and controlling deliveries and moving, ensuring smooth operations.

4. Announcing guests and securing cabs, enhancing the overall experience.

5. Monitoring surveillance cameras and securing entrance doors for safety.

6. Acting as a security guard and assisting with emergencies in accordance with building policies.

7. Answering the telephone after office hours and responding to resident requests.

8. Maintaining clear and effective communication with residents, guests, and team members.

9. Learning resident names and personal preferences to foster a sense of community.

Experience Requirements: 6 months proven experience as a doorman, concierge, or in a similar role in a high-end setting.

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs for handling luggage and deliveries.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to obtain Fire Safety Director certification from the City of Chicago.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
