UHealth, JMH and MTI – Heart Failure Medical Director Job Description: The University of Miami Health System, Jackson Memorial Health System, and Miami Transplant Institute Seek a Medical Director of Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Transplant Program to direct the Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Transplant program across the University of Miami Health System and Jackson Memorial Health System. The Director will be responsible for leading the clinical expansion, integration, and coordination of inpatient and outpatient heart failure care across the healthcare systems. The Director will provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient settings for patients with heart transplant, temporary and durable LVADs, and heart failure. The Director will expand programs for heart transplantation and mechanical assist devices; increase innovation in heart failure patient care, research, clinical trials, and advanced technology; and lead efforts to integrate mobile technologies for greater heart failure patient engagement and health management. Additional expectations will be to oversee the use of standardized evidence-based medicine protocols and quality metrics to reduce avoidable readmissions, enhance the patient experience, and improve clinical outcomes. This is a full-time academic position with clinical, administrative, research, and teaching opportunities.
