About the Role: Job Summary The Director of Cardiovascular Clinical Business (the Department) is responsible and accountable for both the clinical quality and financial viability of the GHI clinical programs, providing subject matter leadership and visibility across the enterprise. This position will support senior service line leaders, medical and operational leaders to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the service line including integration of provider groups, daily operations, facilities, capital and operating budgets and staffing plans to support program growth and sites of care. They also direct and manage contracted services to meet patient and organizational needs; develop, implement and manage strategic plan to respond to anticipated trends, changes in treatment, economics or patient needs; develop and sustain interdisciplinary relationships, committees and manage special projects that contribute to program development; ensures compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies. The Director will provide oversight and direction to medical professionals through daily rounding with respective teams, monitoring compliance and analyzing, tracking and benchmarking data outcomes and results of performance improvement activities. This role will work closely with the Quality Director and be responsible for facilitating performance improvement data reporting and tracking. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant licensed in the state of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Advanced Practice Degree Minimum Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical and leadership experience in Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, or Cardiothoracic Surgery and related Information Management. Experience with coordinating cardiovascular services with exposure to operations, marketing, finance, managed care, and physician relationships. Other: Preferred Job Qualifications Preferred Licensure or other certifications: ANCC certification preferred Preferred Educational Requirements: Masters Degree. Preferred Experience: Other: Job Specific and Unique Knowledge, Skills and Abilities The Director-Cardiovascular Clinical Business should be articulate, decisive and a strong take charge leader who has effective interpersonal skills to develop teamwork among a variety of specialists. He/she should be a polished communicator and listener. Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Ensures the clinical quality and financial viability of the various cardiovascular programs. Implements policies and procedures established by the Vice President of Heart and Vascular Services as they relate to the Department. Develops and recommends new policies necessary to enhance cardiovascular programs. Provide a strategic direction to the Department and be held accountable for the achievement of strategic and tactical goals and objectives. Develop annual goals and objectives for the Department consistent with the strategic planning and direction set by the Vice President of Heart and Vascular Services Coordinate the development and implementation of financial plans for the Department consistent with the overall mission and strategic direction of NGHS. Coordinate the budget preparation process for all operational segments of the Department and monitor success thereof. Develop and implement an annual business plan that includes identification of growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive factors consistent with the overall strategic direction of NGHS. Coordinate ongoing analysis and present periodic reports on the Department including quality, costs, profitability, physician utilization, market share, as well as potential opportunities and problems. Maintain active participation in appropriate regional, state and national professional health management and clinical associations. In conjunction with Service Line development and offerings, contribute to the overall Community Benefit impact of NGHS. Responsible for achieving “Best Practice” models and benchmark Departmental indicators, including clinical, financial, marketing and operational outcomes; as identified jointly with Finance, Quality Improvement and Corporate Development. Facilitate the development of Service Line specific marketing and public relations, and sales activities and monitor outcome effectiveness. Promote harmonious interdepartmental relationships and cooperation to enhance teamwork and cohesiveness throughout the organization. Manages and coordinates the clinical operations of the Department. Direct and coordinate day to day operational activities of the Department, ensuring smooth and effective patient flow through the system. Access, achieve and maintain a high level of customer service satisfaction. Ensure that all operational aspects of the Department are in compliance with the standards of appropriate accreditation and licensing agencies, including but not limited to DNV, and the respective clinical professional societies. Actively participate and, when appropriate, take the lead in negotiating and developing long term relationships with physicians and physician groups, managed care payers, and other influential organizations as they relate to services at NGHS. Establish jointly with service-related physicians an organized program, which provides for a coordinated assessment of all patient care provided throughout the Service Line and Health System, as appropriate. This should include being responsible for clinical pathway development, and continuous quality improvement. Assure the proper assessment of new technology balancing patient outcomes with costs, revenue enhancement, and marketing opportunities. Develop education for physicians, patients, and staff relative to the Department's component of services with emphasis on primary care physicians and the community at large. Ensure that appropriate levels of qualified (clinical, technical, and customer-oriented) personnel are employed in the Department to provide quality patient care.
