The Test Pilot works closely with the Lead Flight Test Engineers and Ground Test Engineers (L-FTE and GTE) to accomplish, safely and efficiently, the necessary flight and ground tests associated with the production and delivery of aircraft. Your Challenges The Test Pilot is responsible for the conduct of the entire flight. Signing of the flight order, prepared and co-signed by the L-FTE, the Captain approves under DOA privilege, by delegation of the HO Flight Test, the flight conditions according to Airbus procedure. The Captain is responsible for ensuring that all arrangements on the ground and in-flight have been made to conduct the flight safely and efficiently including all briefings in coordination with the l-FTE and dispatch. Closely adhering to the authorized flight test plan and based on real-time flight analysis, Instrumentation issues, changing weather or aircraft serviceability, the flight test plan may be modified in flight by the responsible L-FTE with concurrence by the Captain provided it follows the authorized flight envelope and aircraft limitations. Attending any post -flight technical debriefs and liaising with Engineering staff to expedite the resolution of any faults or observations found during approved test flights. The Test Pilot will be required to carry out other tasks within the wider perimeter of Flight Test. This could include assistance to training Departments, external flights (such as lease-recovery, Developmental flights, and commercial events), short-term assistance to other Flight Test centers (e.g. Toulouse, Hamburg, Tianjin, Mirabel), and attending and speaking publicly at conferences. Engagement with the customer during both the delivery process and dedicated customer focused activities to optimally communicate the Airbus approved positions on major industry issues and flight test matters, is a continuous job requirement. Your Boarding Pass Previous experience in production flight testing of heavy aircraft (Desired) Knowledge of the Airbus production flight test environment (Desired) Operational experience in the airline environment (Desired) Graduate of a recognized Flight Test school (ETPS.EPNER, USNTPS, USAFTPS, NTPS and ITPS) or holder of an EASA Class 1 or 2 Flight Test Rating Bachelor of Science or Engineering in a relevant discipline (Desired) Licensure/Certifications: Required: FAA/ATPL Preferred: FAA/TCCA/EASA ATPL Citizenship: Eligible for employment in the US.
