12 Oaks Management Services Inc is Hiring a Director of Life Enrichment Near College Station, TX

The Director of Life Enrichment develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive activities program designed to meet the social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of our residents. He or she plans and coordinates events, outings, games, and exercises for residents and arranges for scout troops, school groups, and performance groups to visit the residents. In addition, the Director of Life Enrichment oversees all activities to ensure residents participate safely and recruits/supervises the Life Enrichment staff and any volunteers.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents
  • Oversees the management and daily operations of the activities department
  • Implements and manages comprehensive activities programs for the residents
  • Ensures that each resident’s needs are assessed and that a plan of activities is developed
  • Manages the department budget
  • Trains and monitors volunteers
  • Maintains equipment and the activities room or area in compliance with standards
  • Communicates with residents and families regarding participation in and satisfaction with programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Physical Requirements:

  • Strong leadership, motivational, and organizational skills
  • Able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing
  • Self-starter; able to carry out diverse duties with minimal supervision
  • Enjoys thinking of new ideas; is creative and resourceful
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of local state and federal regulations pertaining to resident care and services
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Pleasant/ friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of residents and fellow team members

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Management or supervisory experience
  • One year of experience planning social and recreational programs, preferably within an assisted living or long-term care facility
  • An Activity Director Provisionally Certified (ADPC) or Activity Director Certified (ADC) credential highly preferred
