SUMMARY The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for performing preventative and routine repair maintenance on battery changer, rolling equipment, mechanical systems, conveyor, plumbing, electrical systems and facilities maintenance to include both interior and exterior as per maintenance supervisor direction. JOB DUTIES Determines extent of repairs needed and requests assistance from level III/A technician or maintenance supervisor for any problems beyond area of knowledge or expertise. Performs routine repairs on light bulbs, electrical, (AC/DC), mechanical, pneumatic, rolling stock equipment, fire prevention system and hydraulic repairs or installations Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks electrical, (AC/DC), mechanical, pneumatic, rolling stock equipment, fire prevention and hydraulic systems. Assists level III/A technician with special projects and/or repairs. Performs routine building maintenance such as painting walls, repair roof leaks, plumbing, repair door locks and other building related maintenance. Set up offices and assist with moving furniture, hanging fixtures, etc Maintains cleanliness of plant, rolling equipment, machinery and maintenance areas Follows detailed instructions from level III/A technician or maintenance supervisor in written or verbal format. Maintains work order, preventative maintenance and inventory tracking systems via spread sheets, data bases, or maintenance software. Complete other special projects or duties as assigned. Provide training or mentorship to maintenance technicians level I or C as needed or requested. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to stand and/or walk on concrete for a minimum of 8 hours per day Must be able to lift between 50-70 pounds unassisted EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent and certifications in at least one major component of Distribution Center plant maintenance Education Preferred: Maintenance certifications in most or all component of Distribution Center plant maintenance or college technical degree in electronic, electrical, HVAC, mechanical or industrial maintenance from an accredited institution. Minimum Experience: 3 years' experience in Distribution Center maintenance experience Preferred Experience: 5 years industrial plant maintenance technician experience comparable to level II or B SKILLS / COMPETENCIES Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently Ability to prioritize assignments with minimal supervision Excellent work quality and productivity Decision Making/Problem Solving Foster a sense of urgency in others for achieving goals Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and maintenance performed Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, schematics, and machine drawings Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
