The Role: The Maintenance Training Manager is responsible for establishing and directing a training program to provide the technical knowledge and training for the safe maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical and piping systems throughout the plant. This position will assist areas in identifying training needs and develop a training program to meet those needs, as well as provide technical expertise in support of department maintenance and operations. What You'll Do: Develop the Maintenance Training Program/Learning Path strategies with the appropriate tools and methods for both new hire training and continuous education of existing personnel. Develop Maintenance Training Program/Learning Path curricula, training materials and plan course content and methods of instruction. Facilitate and assist with the improvement and creation of Standard Operating Procedures for maintenance processes and tasks. Observe and evaluate new hire employees’ training progress to determine level of proficiency. Responsible for ensuring training requirements are met as specified in Collective Bargaining Agreement. Delivers initial Maintenance Training Program/Learning Path training projects for new hires and specific continual education training topics per the Maintenance Training Program/Learning Path strategies of qualified employees. Maintain the training lab facility, identify ongoing training needs, develop proposals to meet identified needs, and communicate those proposals for investment consideration. Ensure the team has the necessary tools to perform their tasks, maintain an inventory of replacement tools, and be the main contact for tool replacement and tracking. Ensure compliance related trainings are completed as required; could be routine or directive-based (i.e. fork lift operation, JLG, rigging, etc.). This will be for maintenance as well as other areas of the plant. Actively participate in plant safety and environmental programs, providing safety training as needed, and completing action items necessary for safety and health compliance. Stay aware of Maintenance Training Program/Learning Path upgrades by regular contact with outside experts and define how to integrate them in the current process. Other duties as assigned. What You'll Need: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field/Technical degree or equivalent technical process experience 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing food processing plant Effective organizational and planning skills and can handle multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated working understanding of operations and maintenance of food-grade chemical unit processes preferred Excellent communication skills both oral and written Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving Proficient with Microsoft Office applications of Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Word Knowledge of SAP as a CMMS preferred, but not required Previous experience in a Maintenance role in a manufacturing facility Supervisory Responsibility This position does not directly manage employees but must mentor new employees as well as manufacturing training specialists to follow the right method. Work Environment This job spends approximately 30% of the time in the Plant environment and the remainder of the time in an office or training room environment.
