ADI is seeking a Lead Trade Compliance Analyst to support the Global Trade Compliance teams focusing on our aerospace and defense business. This position will play a key role in advising on trade compliance-related legal and regulatory requirements and enhance and protect ADI’s reputation by providing practical and risk-based advice, insight and problem-solving in support of the company’s aerospace and defense initiatives. We are looking for someone with sharp communication and analytical skills who is proactive, collaborative, engaged and has demonstrated excellent judgment and strategic thinking. A successful candidate will be able to work well cross-functionally, across global time zones and is a true team player and business partner. This position will be based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and is eligible for ADI’s hybrid working model. Job Description Advise on, develop, and support regulatory compliance International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations, Dept. of Defense (DoD), Office of Foreign Assets Controls (OFAC), EU Common Military List, and other import/export regulatory requirements and laws. Partner with aerospace and defense engineers to determine commodity jurisdiction and classification of products, software, and technical data. Draft and enhance trade compliance policies, procedures and controls for aerospace and defense businesses. Provide training and guidance to employees on trade compliance-related matters. Prepare regulatory submissions such as DSP-5s, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs), Manufacturing License Agreements (MLAs), and EAR SNAP-R, CCATS to government agencies, including but not limited to submissions to the Bureau of Industry and Security, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), DETE, etc. Stay up to date on trade compliance emerging trends, industry guidance, best practices and applicable laws, changes in ITAR, EAR and EU Common Military List and communicate relevant updates to the organization Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and rectify potential compliance issues. Work closely with the legal and trade compliance team to address any legal matters related to ITAR, EAR and EU compliance. Participate in the development of compliance strategies and initiatives. Interact with government agencies and respond to inquiries and requests from government agencies to address legal matters related to ITAR, EAR and EU trade compliance. Partner with Internal Audit to measure compliance and support external auditors as appropriate Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on ITAR, EAR and EU-related issues. Job Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in business management, law, finance, business administration or another relevant field. Preferred advanced degree such as an MBA or JD from an accredited law school. In-depth knowledge of ITAR/EAR, EU Common Military List and their application. Experience drafting, reviewing, and filing DSP-5’s, MLA’s, TAA’s, and annual DDTC registration. Proven experience in a similar compliance role, preferably in the semiconductor, defense or aerospace industry. 7 years of experience as a senior trade compliance professional. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment. Detail-oriented and highly organized with a focus on accuracy in documentation and record-keeping. Excellent judgment, flexibility, and ability to provide dynamic solutions. Promote a culture of ethics and integrity, transparency, and ethical behavior Participate in the development of compliance strategies and initiatives Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional, team-oriented environment Detail-oriented and highly organized with a focus on accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
