Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Monitor Technician for our Progressive Care Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a Monitor technician you will: •Document rhythm on EKG flow sheet. Immediately reports any change in cardiac rhythm to the nurse. •Obtain strips on irregularities. •Maintain charge requisitions on monitored patients •Make nursing personnel aware of need for replacement of patient electrodes and/or newly monitored patients to be connected. •Maintain safe and effective operation of the Monitoring Console at all times. •Ensure that paper loaders are full. •Monitor assigned telemetry console. •Obtains monitor strips at the start of each shift, interprets strip, puts date and time on each strip, and places it on flow sheet. •Participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams. •Provide a verbal report to relief persons and gives a patient report to oncoming technicians. •Verify and adjusts alarm limits as established for the levels appropriate to the individual patient. •Verify alarms are on at all times. •Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Include: •High School Diploma or GED required. •1 year experience with emergency situations and maintaining continuous strips of cardiac rhythms. •Completion of the Monitor Technician Program. •Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
