Cook Job Description Cook is responsible for preparing high quality, palatable and appetizing foods conserving the maximum nutritional value. Cooks for both large quantity and on-demand orders. Cooks food, prepares cold foods, portions and serves foods based on food production specifications and in accordance with standardized recipes and menus. Department: Food Nutrition Services Hours: 11am - 7:30pm Starting Wage: $16.54 , pay based on applicable experience. Responsibilities Ensures optimal compliance with all rules, regulations, and standards set forth by regulatory agencies. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment including equipment. Follows HACCP guidelines., Ensures optimal compliance with all rules, regulations, and standards set forth by regulatory agencies. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment including equipment. Follows HACCP guidelines., Ensures the production of optimal quality foods prepared and served to enhance customer service for patients, employees, and guest of the Health Center, Functions as part of a team that insures delivery of food to patients within 45 minutes of the order being placed., Maintains optimal service standards in accordance with portion control charts in order to comply with the patient’s nutritional needs as directed by the Registered Dietitian(s)., Plans food preparation schedules to ensure timely service and optimal quality to patients, staff and guest of the Health System., Prepares all foods and baked goods on demand specified by the menu and standardized recipes adjusting quantities as necessary., Prepares and serves “on demand” food items needed for Room Service meals served to hospital patients and guests, Purchases and receives all foodstuffs and supplies in accordance with established guidelines., Stocks area according to par levels., Works all positions on the patient service line as directed, insuring that all hot & cold meals are correct as ordered, rotating into a one person line, works both sides as necessary during slack times and performing all necessary prep work.
