Summary The Cardiac Perfusionist works under the supervision of the cardiothoracic surgeons and shall perform in the hospital as Dependent Health Professional Affiliates. The practice of perfusion is defined as those functions necessary for the support, treatment or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. Education Bachelors degree with 2 years post-graduate school in Perfusion or the equivalent in education and experience required. Certification, Registration & Licensure Experience Experience with membrane oxygenation, roller and centrifugal pumps is required. Intra-aortic balloon pump experience preferred.
