Your Day to Day:

Job Summary –

Responsible for the delivery of Analytics that support IHG’s Commercial performance, including dashboards, tools, and ad hoc analysis. This role will help define and implement the go-forward BI strategy for Commercial teams, with a focus on driving adoption and actionability of Analytics outputs. The Director will lead a team of onshore and offshore analytics and collaborate closely with business and technical teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)

  • Create and implement the BI strategy that supports global and regional Commercial teams, with a focus on role and persona-based analytics
  • Own and maintain critical hotel performance metrics leveraged for Commercial reporting, ensuring accuracy and consistency across report suites
  • Manage existing suite of commercial dashboards and reports, ensuring they are accurate, actionable, and easy to use.
  • Collaborate with global and regional business stakeholders, technical teams, and product owners to ensure that reporting needs are defined and delivered
  • Manage and lead a team of onshore and offshore analytics professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Develop the team's skills and capabilities through coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics employees to follow.
  • Lead cross-functional BI projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover actionable insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on commercial analytics-related topics and provide guidance to other teams in IHG.
  • Investigate and implement innovative and advanced features in BI tools and data systems that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals.

What We Need From You:

Key Skills & Experiences

Required Qualifications

Education –

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing, Finance, Management, or a related field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. MBA preferred.

Experience –

10 years progressive work related experience in marketing financial/strategic planning with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to the position, preferably in the hotel industry or a similar environment.

Technical Skills and Knowledge –

  • Demonstrated project management experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from conception through implementation.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to clients, vendors, senior management, and staff.
  • Extensive experience with BI solutions in the market, strong quantitative skills, and an ability to delegate tasks with ease.
  • Experience in managing a team of offshore analysts.
  • Experience in working with cross regional teams in different time zones.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and persuasion abilities required in order to present ideas and recommend solutions to business stakeholders and senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and direct multiple project assignments in a relatively unstructured environment.
  • Strong consultative skills and demonstrated ability to achieve corporate business objectives across functional boundaries.

Decision making responsibilities:

  • Significant impact on performance analysis given to senior management. This data is directly used to make major operations and planning decisions and incorrect data could adversely affect future revenue streams in marketing and/or sales.

Internal Key Relationships

  • Finance, Revenue Management, Strategic Planning, Development and Sales & Marketing - for the use and gathering of competitive data and insights
  • Senior management – to provide analysis and report data

External Key Relationships

  • Collaboration with technology and data partners, including Google, Tableau and other data partners

Physical Requirements -

  • Majority of work performed in a normal office environment.
  • Ability to travel required as needed or requested stakeholders (approximately 10-15%)
