Responsibilities

• Lead & support the eng activities for large scale prod dev programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3D modeling software, conduct layout review & 2D drawing creation. Analyze & resolve complex problems independently or w/minimal guidance. Create part specification reqs & BOM. Negotiate w/surrounding component business units & suppliers. Perform cost analysis, strength calculations & material selection. Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date tech & reduce design & parts costs. Travel to client sites req. Telecommuting option – employee must live in the Columbus, OH area.

• Bachelor’s in Engineering & 5 yrs relevant exp, incl 5 yrs exp in Automotive Body Closures devt; 5 yrs exp using CATIA V5; strong understanding of DFM; & ability to interpret CAE results & integrate recommendations into product designs.
