Job Title: Scheduling Director (Construction Industry)

With a commitment to quality, safety, and excellence, we are seeking a highly skilled Scheduling Director to join our team and lead our scheduling efforts to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Job Description:

The Scheduling Director will oversee all scheduling activities for construction projects, ensuring optimal resource allocation, efficient project sequencing, and adherence to project timelines. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement comprehensive project schedules for all phases of construction projects, from pre-construction planning to project closeout.

2. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to establish project milestones, deliverables, and critical path activities.

3. Conduct resource loading analysis to optimize resource allocation and identify potential scheduling conflicts or constraints.

4. Monitor and update project schedules regularly to reflect changes in project scope, timelines, or resource availability.

5. Analyze schedule performance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

6. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to align their schedules with project milestones and deadlines.

7. Provide schedule-related guidance and support to project teams, ensuring they have the necessary information and resources to meet project schedule requirements.

8. Communicate schedule updates, delays, and impacts to project stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.

9. Develop and maintain standard scheduling procedures, templates, and best practices to streamline scheduling processes and improve efficiency.

10. Stay current with industry trends, software tools, and techniques related to construction scheduling and recommend improvements to enhance scheduling capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction scheduling or project controls, with a proven track record of managing complex construction schedules.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling software tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze schedule data and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Experience in Lean construction practices and Last Planner System (LPS) is a plus.
