RecorGroup is on a mission to create simple solutions for our client’s complex problems. We are seeking a person who is wanting to learn and develop themselves into an experienced business analyst. As a member of RecorGroup’s Intelligence team, you will be focused on supporting us solve problems by pulling and analyzing multiple data sources with the objective of identifying meaningful trends to determine category strategy and opportunities for our clients. Our ideal candidate is comfortable and willing to learn all aspects of category management, tool development, and shifting through data to support our clients.

Objectives of this Role

• Assist the Analyst and Analyst Manager in development and execution of segmentation, monthly reporting, category reviews, shelving, and provide market insights through collection of various data sources
• Learn how to support and build turn-key presentations that presents information to a variety of stakeholders
• Learn how to interpret the data as well as analyze results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques
• Understand and interpret relevant local/global market and shopper trends that impact our industry
• Participate and assist in regular meetings with key stakeholders addressing opportunities and issues to identify and implement fact-based solutions to support the overall objective(s)

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Updating and managing monthly reporting per client accountability
• Updating category segmentation on a quarterly basis
• Supporting on data insights and category management to our client(s)
• Supports in creating summaries from data with clear and concise presentations
• Supports in accomplishing new and different requests and explores opportunities to add value
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Will support the Analytics Manager in all functions of the category management process

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mathematics, Business, Marketing, Management, or related field
• Advanced analytical skills with experience collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating abundant information with accuracy
• 1-2 years’ experience within consumer goods, category management and/or trade marketing experience
• Knowledge with or experience of consumer behavior and insights is preferred
• Knowledge of using syndicated data and category management principals
• Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• The ability to present findings in a polished way
• Experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Experience with dataset analytics (using Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
• Experience utilizing data: Point of Sale, Consumer Panel, Assortment Optimization, and other consumer-based data providers (IRI, Nielsen, etc.)
• Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning

Travel Requirements

• This position will travel occasionally (10-15%)
