We are seeking a highly motivated Associate/Senior Associate Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry with a strong background in synthetic chemistry to propel drug discovery projects in our company. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and will be responsible for designing, synthesizing, and characterizing novel chemical entities as potential drug candidates. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, high level of creativity and scientific curiosity, and an understanding of basic principles of series SAR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and synthesize novel chemical entities for drug discovery projects
• Develop and implement synthetic strategies for facilitating SAR exploration as well as scale-up of key intermediates and milestone compounds
• Collaborate with colleagues on structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies to optimize potency, selectivity, and pharmacokinetic properties of drug candidates
• Stay current with the latest advances in synthetic and medicinal chemistry via scientific literature
• Participate in patent and scientific paper writing
• Communicate results and progress to project teams

Desirable Attributes:

• B.S./MS degree in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry <5 years of experience in drug discovery
• Strong expertise in synthetic chemistry and experience in designing and synthesizing novel chemical entities for drug discovery
• Strong problem-solving skills, high level of creativity and scientific curiosity
• Excellent search and analysis skills of synthetic/medchem literature
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in drug discovery projects in biotech or pharmaceutical industry
• Familiarity with relevant computational tools and software for drug design and analysis is a plus
• Strong record of publications, patents, or other scientific achievements in medicinal chemistry or related field
