Carroll Insurance Agency is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Commercial Lines Account Manager in Houston, Texas. The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for the delivery of exceptional service to our commercial property and casualty clients. Must have prior commercial insurance experience and hold a Texas Property & Casualty license.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Prepare applications, surveys, and other submission documents for Producer to review and update on renewal business 120 days in advance.
  • Conduct on going risk management analyses of existing accounts.
  • Maintain personal contacts with the clients during the year, assisting Producer with client relations.
  • Handle complex processing situations with client and/or company personnel.
  • Match incoming mail and process or refer to Assistant CSR.
  • Responsible for processing insured’s, lien holders’, mortgagees’, certificate holders’, and underwriters’ questions/requests on commercial insurance and surety.
  • Check and confirm all policy coverage and/or rating for accuracy and relevance on all new and renewal business and endorsements.
  • Process and suspense cancellations, audits and endorsement request or refer to Assistant.
  • Invoice endorsement, cancellation, and audit transactions on commercial insurance and surety.
  • Maintain account data forms and attachments with the appropriate documentation according to established procedures.
  • Handle or refer insured’s and underwriters questions.
  • Perform other duties as required or as instructed by Management.
  • Take and process claims in the absence of Claims personnel.
  • Contact clients for collection of premiums, as necessary.
  • Confirm all renewal and new business policies.
  • Identify and develop cross selling opportunities and solicit appointments to pursue this information.
  • Pursue a program for personal and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma with some college helpful but not necessary
  • MUST have Texas property-casualty insurance agent’s license.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance coverage
  • Holds or in process of obtaining professional designation.
  • Applied EPIC software experience preferred.
  • Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with numbers including basic calculations.
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Projects professional appearance and manner
  • Self-starter with the ability to be flexible.
  • High attention to detail
  • MUST have at least 3 years of experience in commercial lines
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance brokerage industry including products, rating, underwriting, coverages, and industry operations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, producers, carriers and staff.
