Field Service Manager is responsible for quality execution of the companys operations activities, by leading supervisors and technicians in the execution of the companys safety, preventive maintenance, installation/start up, rework and troubleshooting activity associated with control panel, ignition systems, AFR, speed governing, end devices along with compressor and engine overhauls and other related items. This position is responsible for the timely execution, quality service and delivery of financial results from a cost perspective in line with company and customer expectations. Daily interaction with customers field level employees in regard to field service activities is a requirement, therefore good customer management and communication skills are required. Success in this position will be represented by an exceptional safety record for the assigned volume of field technicians, large percentage of satisfied customers, low field employee turnover rates and successfully maintaining mechanical as well as financial (cost) performance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Communicates (teaches, trains, explains), complies, and promotes the companys EHS policies.

Recruits, hires, terminates, and evaluates supervisors and technicians.

Recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

Resolves employee conflicts.

Participates, identifies, and promotes companys continuous improvement initiatives.

Teaches, promotes, and executes the companys field service policies.

Responsible for directing the resolution technical problems with individual overhauls reported by customers in a timely and technically accurate manner.

Investigate and document major equipment failures. Recommends procedures to avoid repeat failures in the future to Management

Oversees the direction of all remotely located, highly mobile supervisors and technicians.

Assists service supervisor and coordinator on the technician assignments for planned and unplanned field service activities.

Communicates with the service supervisor and coordinator as needed on the required corrective maintenance needs regarding scheduling and scope of work.

Communicates to service supervisor and coordinator as needed on unit start up and disassembly dates in a timely manner.

Accountable for the direction and/or execution of maintenance activities in accordance with the schedule set by customer, both planned and unplanned.

Accountable for the quality of workmanship of technicians for all maintenance activities.

Directs the management of or directly manages the cost of service activities.

Assist with development and execution of action plan for service activities.

Manages the cost and repairs of transportation equipment and other overhead expenses.

Directs the supervisor or technicians to provide technical assistance to customers.

Responsible for the development of supervisors and technicians.

Responsible for directing the training of supervisors and technicians on all field service-related process improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with 10 to 15 years of gas compression experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

* Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

* Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Should have general computer skills and be capable of utilizing the computer as an appropriate diagnostic tool.

* Must have a valid drivers license, be able to maintain an acceptable driving record in line with GLOBAL COMPRESSION SERVICES requirements and possess a clean driving record.

* Must have the ability to listen effectively and understand employee usage concerns and formulate a decision to resolve the issues.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move heavy objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Required travel up to 40%.

This position is considered a safety sensitive position.

Distribution of time for this position is expected to be 40% in the field.
