Who You Are::We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Paralegal with experience handling a large caseload. Must have excellent communication skills and communicate directly with clients. Applicant must have 2-4 years experience as a pre-litigation paralegal in Personal Injury field and be able to work under minimal supervision.
The ideal Pre-litigation paralegal candidates should be highly organized self-starters who work well with others in a high-paced environment. Strong administrative, organizational, communication and writing skills are required. Experience with high volume practices is preferred. Foreign language proficiency is a plus.
What You'll Do::Pre-litigation Paralegal Duties :
- Ability to manage all Pre-litigation paralegal duties which include a caseload of personal injury cases from intake until the case goes to litigation (Filing of Summons and Complaint)
- Knowledge of the Initial client intake processing
- Knowledge of Personal Injury Statutes of Limitations
- Ability to make first report of claim with insurance companies
- Knowledge of No-Fault applications, filing of claims/procedures, deadlines
- Knowledge of the processing of lost wage claims
- Knowledge of retrieving police reports
- Knowledge of personal injury threshold
- Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Indemnification Corp procedures
- Ability to set up property damage claims
- Ability to obtain Property Deeds / Corporate Business search about premises liability claims
- Knowledge of FOIL requests
- Follow up with clientele on medical care, providers, notating and updating of cliental medical file as tasked
- Ability to request medical records & bills from various medical providers in order to effectively prepare insurance demand packets
- Obtaining/documenting outstanding liens: medical liens, worker's compensation liens, etc.

What You Bring::Education:
- Bachelors degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
Experience:
- PI Intake: 1 year (Required)
- PI Plaintiff's: 1 year (Required)
- Pre-Litigation paralegal: 2 years (Required)
- Medical Records: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
