POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analytics Manager leads the American Association of Nurse Practitioners’ (AANP) efforts in harnessing data analytics to inform strategic decisions, manage data infrastructure, and ensure the integrity and accessibility of data across the organization.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

This position can be remote, hybrid, or in office. Our office locations are Austin, Texas National Headquarters and Washington D.C. Government Affairs (Arlington, Virginia).

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

You are expected to perform the following essential responsibilities of the position with reasonable accommodation. The position may include other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into actionable data insights.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of a data migration plan for membership data to a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, Salesforce.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce incoming duplicate customer records in the database.
  • Provides duplicate management training and documentation to staff.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure organizational success.
  • Conducts in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement or optimization.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Works closely with IT and other departments to define and standardize data definitions, metrics, and data quality standards.
  • Provides training and support to staff on data-related tools, systems, and best practices.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Application Development and other team members to enhance data infrastructure, including data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
  • Stays informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data analysis and data management.
  • Works with the Research department to continuously improve the merging and importing processes of the national NP Database.
  • Assists in the national NP count biannually and updates additionally as requested.
  • Collaborates on the sampling of AANP surveys.
  • Works collaboratively with the Research Team to establish protocols for data entry of individual projects (e.g., NP Sample Survey), includes programming questionnaires into the chosen survey platform, and testing skip patterns.
  • Understands and ensures that applicable privacy laws and standards are upheld when working with survey and customer data.
  • Acts as the liaison with the Research department and provides support as needed.
  • Coordinates GDPR compliance requests with third party vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, information systems, a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Equivalent experience with data analytics management can be substituted for education on a year for year basis above the minimum experience required.

Experience

Required:

  • Three or more years of experience in data management, data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a non-profit or professional association setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce data administration is a plus.
  • Experience working with STATA is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

  • Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of Data Management.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and tools to communicate complex data insights effectively.
  • Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and a passion for leveraging data to drive organizational decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent ability to perform all communications in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of non-profit sector operations and challenges is a plus.
  • Proficiency with STATA.
