Financial Operations Accountant
The Financial Operations Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial transaction recording and reporting for our construction-service oriented entities. This role involves collaborating within a cross functional accounting and finance team and interacting with operational team members.
Position will report to Financial Operations Accounting Manager and provide accounting support for Operations entities (“Company Stores”)
Process monthly reoccurring journal entries (prepaids, depreciation, accruals) as part of month-end close process. Enter journal entries throughout month as required
Perform account reconciliations; with a strong focus on bank reconciliations, credit card transaction recording and review, prepaid and work in progress general ledger accounts. Resolve discrepancies in tandem with Operations Accounting Manager
Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as part of general ledger transaction reviews; identify coding changes needed and provide resolution and guidance to teams
Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Assist with external audits and provide necessary support to auditors.
Assist Operations Accounting Manager with project accounting and ad hoc financial systems and process improvement projects
Position has a next-level growth track to a Senior Operations Accountant position
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis on accounting
2-4 years of accounting experience within a corporate environment
Technical accounting knowledge to conduct routine analysis, prepare reports, monitor results and interpret information. GAAP and accrual accounting knowledge required
Experience with an ERP level accounting system; NetSuite preferred, with familiarity of QuickBooks Online and Desktop versions helpful
Exceptional computer skills, including expertise in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of V-Lookups and Pivot Tables essential
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, in a deadline driven manner
Detail oriented with capacity to prioritize effectively
Very Strong problem-solving, and proactive written and oral communication skills
Project accounting and procurement process experience a plus
Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and cross train and perform various accounting tasks (AP, AR, & GL)
