SI Group, Inc. is Hiring an EHS Manager Near Newport, TN

The Role:

The EHS Manager reports to the Sr. Plant Manager leads the EHS department from a ZERO EHS impact philosophy. You will be the primary contact between the site and regulatory authorities and manage and implement Local, State, and Federal regulatory compliance programs including the investigation and auditing processes. You will promote the SI Brand Promise and its RC14001 standards, follow EHS safety protocols, and all other required SI and regulatory standards.

How You Will Make an Impact:

Site Management

  • Participate on the Site Leadership Team
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and solve problems to support achievement of site objectives
  • Anticipate future requirements for site and develop and implement strategic plans to meet those requirements

Functional Department Leader Role

  • Ensure EHS compliance and continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Develop budget plans following a zero-based approach and manage EHS costs
  • Together with the site management team, provides site level policies/procedures for EHS and site secutiry management
  • Ensure site compliance with government regulations, company EHS standards and site procedures
  • Manage relationship and communication with external regulatory agencies and provide necessary follow-up for inspections by regulatory agencies
  • Accountable for all programs related to Environmental, Health, Safety Training and Security
  • Maintain high level of readiness and emergency preparedness, provide for the appropriate testing, maintenance and replacement of all equipment and personnel necessary to meet the needs of the site
  • Conduct risk assessments to determine potential gaps in safety, security and regulatory processes and enact measures to reduce and resolve risks
  • Perform regular hazard analysis to identify potential safety risks to people or SI operations, and recommend solution to reduce or resolve
  • Direct investigations and analysis of accidents/incidents and provide recommended corrective actions to reduce or resolve; ensure compliance to company and regulatory event reporting and investigation requirements
  • Provide site with trend analysis of incidents/near misses and includes recommended corrective actions to reduce or resolve
  • Lead and participate the Guiding Principles of the Responsible Care Management System

Create a Culture of Continuous Improvement

  • Guide LEAN/Six Sigma, continuous improvement of processes and operations for increased productivity and efficiency
  • Grow a culture of continuous improvement (CI) by advocating CI into meetings, trainings, processes, and systems
  • Ensure that EH&S work is accomplished through defined, measured, and improved work processes; identify and use EHS best practices

Creating Extraordinary Starts With:

  • Bachelor's degree, in technical field or demonstrated equivalency
  • Minimum of five years of experience leading and contributing to compliance and regulatory policy and program development in manufacturing
  • Three years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Environmental and Safety Management, OSHA, and other relevant regulations

Experience with EHS software management tools preferred
