Job Overview
The accountant is responsible for the management and reporting of IRA Financial Trust’s financial data. The individual who holds this position will prepare financial statements, examining and analyzing IRA Financials' accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting or other standard accounting procedures. They will work directly with the financial team, other departments, and third-party vendors, when necessary, to ensure all tasks are completed and deadlines are met. They will use their knowledge of financial practices to perform the important accounting tasks critical to the company’s success.

Job Responsibilites
Prepare and process payments to vendors, including checks, electronic transfers, and wire transfers. Ensure payments are made in accordance with payment terms and company policies.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of various accounts, including bank accounts, and general ledger accounts. Compare and verify transactions between various sources to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Maintain accruate and up-to date financial records including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts by providing financial data and analysis.
Assist in the month-end closing process by reconciling accounts and providing support for financial reporting activities.
Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits by providing financial data and supporting documentation.
Utilize financial software and systems to record transitions, generate reports, and analyze data.
Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices are followed.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance preferred.
Ability to work independently.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft products.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certificate Management Accountant) is a plus.
