Horizon Science Academy Primary is Hiring a Regional Director of Student Services Near Columbus, OH

1. Supports the coordination of all special education programs, related services, accommodations, fidelity of differentiation, caseload to staff ratios and the advocacy for program space and resources for the success of those programs. 2. Co-supervises and assists all staff members involved in special education programs. 3. Co-coordinates special education in services, curriculum development, and program development. 4. Assists in the development of and implementation of local procedures and policies for identification, evaluation, and placement of students with disabilities. 5. Oversees the development and maintenance of all child information management systems and other special education records. 6. Stays abreast of all legal requirements governing special education and their application to programs for their designated school sites. 7. Participates in budget and staffing recommendations on special education programs as is appropriate. 8. Assists in the development of positive relationships with parents of students with disabilities to help them better understand their child’s unique needs and to provide support to these parents. 9. Assists in recruitment and selection of all special education personnel. 10. Assists in arranging transportation of students with disabilities as appropriate. 11. Coordinate with special education teams to ensure all documents are completed in a timely manner (according to state, local, and school policies and procedures) prior to all multidisciplinary team meetings. Connect with special education teams to ensure all team members are prepared for the content of the meeting.12. Coordinate with the special education team to complete quarterly IEP progress reports and provide quarterly IEP progress reports to parents/guardians.13. Work in partnership with administration and school Psychologist to develop and deliver departmental and school wide training regarding Special Education processes, classroom instructional practices, resources, and other related issues.14. Oversee the development of, and review, all assigned schools Individualized Education Plans to ensure quality and compliance; ensures the accuracy of the information in the IEP on the Special Education Information System (SameGoal). 15.Review Transfer students’ eligibility and IEPs to provide guidance on comparable services described in the transferred IEP and facilitate the multidisciplinary team meeting to formally adopt the IEP from the previous district as written or start anew. 16.Collaborate with the schools sponsors with SPED related issues17. Mentor and monitor new Intervention Specialists, overseeing document review, timeline adherence, departmental coordination, and team meetings.18. Serve as a District Representative in IEP/ETR meetings in the absence of building Principals or other designated administrators.19. Assist Intervention Specialists in developing efficient schedules for service delivery minutes.20. Act as a liaison between Response to Intervention (RTI) and Evaluation Team Report (ETR) processes, working with the RTI coordinator to facilitate smooth transitions.21. Track down transfer IEP/ETR documents from previous schools promptly.22. Provide support and guidance on disciplinary processes and procedures for Special Education students, including organizing manifestation meetings and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).23. Provide leadership and support to ESL teachers, including training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.24. Stay informed about best practices in ESL instruction and language acquisition research, and disseminate this knowledge to staff.25. Prepare reports on ESL program effectiveness, student achievement, and other relevant metrics for stakeholders.26. Develop and implement support services, such as tutoring, language labs, and enrichment programs, to help ESL students succeed academically.27. Participate in administrative meetings, board meetings, and other such meetings as required or appropriate.28. Prepare various reports (e.g. correspondence, state/authorizer reports, analyses, etc.) as required29. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.
