Job Details

Job Description:

  • Provide onsite technical support for our client s data center and equipment, ensuring continuous availability.
  • Perform troubleshooting, escalations, and incident resolution.
  • Collaborate with support teams and vendors during system outages or performance issues.
  • Execute network and server installations and maintenance tasks.
  • Manage data center staging, deployment, and logistics.
  • Conduct site builds and refreshes while adhering to quality standards.
  • Perform hardware break/fix/move/add/change tasks and troubleshooting.
  • Possess extensive enterprise cable installation experience and adhere to industry standards.
  • Conduct fiber and copper cable testing with minimal supervision.
  • Terminate Cat 6 cabling and maintain rack elevations within a DCIM application.
  • Maintain inventory control and documentation on systems and components.
  • Interface with other ISD areas and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Provide status reports on active or resolved issues.
  • Configure and perform preventative maintenance on network and data center equipment.
  • Utilize out-of-band management/KVM systems and manage power distribution units.
  • Familiar with power connectors, data center containment solutions, and safety standards.
  • Lift equipment weighing 50 lbs.
  • Write and maintain site reference documentation and update procedures.
  • Possess intermediate Data Center / IT Operations experience.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in LAN/WAN topologies, protocols, and standards.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and grammatical skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work in a 24/7 environment and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Perform under pressure with changing priorities.
  • Familiar with network cabling, electrical & optical transceivers, server hardware, electrical standards, and data center design principles.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience with WAN/LAN communications, including Cisco routers and switches.
  • Ability to present technical solutions and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of electronic principles for diagnosing IT system issues.
  • Understanding of technical inter-relationships between software/hardware systems.
  • Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Navy Federal operations.
