Job Title
Information Technology (IT) Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable IT Specialist to join our team. The IT Specialist will provide technical support, maintain hardware and software systems, and ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of IT skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: The IT Specialist will provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems, and assisting with IT-related inquiries
  • Hardware Maintenance: The IT Specialist will install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, servers, network devices, and other IT equipment. They will perform hardware upgrades, repairs, and replacements as needed
  • Software Administration: The IT Specialist will install, configure, and update software applications, operating systems, and utilities. They will monitor software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements
  • Network Administration: The IT Specialist will configure and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. They will monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement network security measures
  • Data Backup and Recovery: The IT Specialist will implement and maintain data backup and recovery solutions to protect against data loss and ensure business continuity. They will test backup systems regularly and perform data restoration as needed
  • Security Management: The IT Specialist will implement and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect against cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. They will monitor security systems, conduct security audits, and respond to security incidents
  • User Training and Documentation: The IT Specialist will provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics, including software usage, cybersecurity best practices, and IT policies. They will develop and maintain IT documentation, including user guides, technical manuals, and knowledge-base articles
  • Vendor Management: The IT Specialist will manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, including procurement, contract negotiation, and vendor performance evaluation. They will coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues and ensure service-level agreements are met
  • IT Projects: The IT Specialist will assist with planning, implementing, and managing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget
  • IT Asset Management: The IT Specialist will track and manage IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and peripherals. They will maintain accurate inventory records, conduct asset audits, and optimize asset utilization

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred
  • Proven experience in IT support, administration, or related roles
  • Strong technical skills across a variety of IT disciplines, including hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , Security , Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) are a plus
  • Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles and practices is desirable
