Job Summary:
The Billing Specialist will gather data, calculate charges and fees, and create invoices for billing purposes. We are a small, yet growing, company in the power line construction and maintenance industry looking for a candidate who is comfortable working in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will easily transition from routine daily tasks to a higher paced setting during critical times such as during emergency and storm restoration efforts.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Calculates costs for goods, services, and delivery/shipment of goods.
· Verifies accuracy of billing data, correcting any errors.
· Creates and processes invoices in accordance with company contracts, policies, and procedures.
· Performs general bookkeeping work, which may include entering data and maintaining records, invoices, and supporting documents of amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
· Generates billing documents and maintains billing records.
· Contacts customers regarding billing inquiries and payments.
· Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Basic understanding of clerical and administrative procedures.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to independently solve problems as they arise.
· Ability to get along well with others and to act with integrity and professionalism.
· Ability to read and understand contracts to fulfill customer requirements and ensure billing accuracy.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Prior construction billing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
