We have openings in our Tulsa office. The role of Therapist requires a master’s degree in mental health related discipline. Must be licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Oklahoma, e.g. LPC, LMFT, LBP, LCSW, LMSW. Using integrated models of assessment, intervention, and recovery, including screening for co-occurring disorders, this position will be responsible for providing assessments and clinical counseling behavioral health care services to adults. Responsible for incorporating the agency’s Sanctuary Model principles and tools into client care. Will also complete appropriate documentation of services to meet licensing, state, and agency standards.

Therapist I (under supervision): $74,000.00 / year
Therapist II: $82,000.00 / year

Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma provides mental health and substance abuse treatment, physical health care management and wellness services for over 5,000 children and adults annually. We are Oklahoma's only community mental health center certified in the Sanctuary model of care. Using this model, the agency provides trauma-informed care helping to create an environment of safety, identify and manage emotions, process loss and help clients create a future of growth and change. Due to tremendous growth, we are hiring Therapist in all our locations. As a member of our CRS team, you will have the opportunity to improve the quality of life for our patients by delivering one-on-one clinical guidance and support.

Are you a therapist looking for a new opportunity? Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma is looking for a great therapist to join our team! We are looking for a team player who takes initiative and is passionate about helping others. Experience treating co-occurring disorders is a plus. This position will provide therapy, treatment plans, and screenings to adult clients in our Tulsa office. This position will work on a team with a case manager and will hold a productivity standard of 25 hours a week. This position will work with a wide array of diagnoses including but not limited to Major Depressive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Bipolar I/II. Responsible for incorporating the agency’s Sanctuary Model principles and tools into client care. Will also complete appropriate documentation of services to meet licensing, state and agency standards. Requires a master’s degree in mental health related discipline. Must be licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Oklahoma; e.g. LPC, LMFT, LADC-MH, or LCSW. Vaccinations are required and exemption forms are available upon request if available.

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to diagnose, intervene, and effectively discharge persons in need of mental health services. Knowledge of and ability to apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in practice.
  • Ability to evaluate situations and adopt an effective course of action, to delegate responsibilities, organizes and presents facts effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to interact with staff, clients, administration, and the community both in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to work under pressure meeting deadlines with efficiency and consistency while maintaining a balance between good physical and mental health and the job requirements.
  • Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality guidelines for interactions regarding client information.
  • Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees, clients and the public.


Example of Position Responsibilities:

  • Will provide an array or select clinical behavioral health care services to adults, children and families, as needed and assigned in line with education, training and or experience to clients at Counseling & Recovery Services of Oklahoma.
  • Participate in the planning and promotion of community mental health service programs.
  • Direct psychotherapy assessments or treatment plans, involving a minimum of 10 hours per week individual, group, or family therapy.
  • Will provide on-going treatment to clients.
  • Will complete appropriate documentation and development treatment plans.
  • Support and promote a service environment for individuals in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives.
  • Have the skills to de-escalate consumers who are agitated, anxious, angry, or in other vulnerable emotional states.
  • Have knowledge of psychotropic medications and their actions.
  • Use integrated models of assessment, intervention, and recovery for person having both substance-related and mental disorders.
  • Maintain current clinical case records and other required documentation in a manner to meet established requirements.
  • Collaboratively develop and implement an integrated treatment plan based on thorough assessment that addresses both/all disorders and establishes sequenced goals based on urgent needs, considering the stage of recovery and level of engagement.


Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Clinical Director and/or Executive.


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move from location to location, bending, stooping, lifting 25 pounds, communicate clearly, prepare written communications, present information to other employees, process complex information within established procedures/programs, enter data to various programs. Must be able to climb stairs and access non-handicapped equipped residences/facilities.
