Alpine Archaeological Consultants is Hiring an Administrative Specialist Near Montrose, CO

Alpine Archaeological Consultants is a friendly and collaborative organization looking to hire our next team member. The Administrative Specialist position will work 24 hours per week and receive paid leave and holidays. Work will be performed in our Montrose, Colorado office; the schedule is negotiable.

Wage: $21/hour.

First review of applications: Monday, April 1 (position is open until filled)

The priority responsibility for the position is to provide logistical support for Alpine’s employees traveling weekly to perform archaeological fieldwork in a 12-state region. You will learn our processes and be required to:

  • Make travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and vehicles
  • Research and reserve travel options based on the project budget
  • Communicate travel schedules, itineraries, and updates to employees in a clear and timely manner
  • Organize travel expenses for accounting purposes

Secondary Position Requirements:

  • Payroll backup support
  • Vehicle fleet scheduling and transporting vehicles for maintenance
  • Office supplies inventory control and requisition
  • Organization of electronic project documents
  • Document printing, binding, and mailing
  • Local travel, such as to the post office and obtaining supplies for employee events

Qualifications:

  • Four years of office administrative experience is required
  • Preferred: Associates degree
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive company vehicles

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, and problem solve effectively
  • Ability to research flights and accommodations using travel booking platforms
  • Ability to proactively prepare for upcoming events
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel
