Direct Report Aquatics Director Employee Profile and Desired Traits •High level emotional intelligence •Active in team dynamics, conflict prevention/resolution, and identifying customer needs •Cheerful attitude and servant leadership disposition •Dedicated customer service and people oriented •Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn •Ability to interact with men and women of all ages and maturity levels of staff/customers Principle Responsibilities •Teach aquatics-based merit badges and lessons •Present in front of group sizes of 2-20 youth and transfer knowledge •Assist with the set-up, maintenance and take down of program areas •Turn in advancement paperwork to supervisor in a timely manner •Participate and exhibit Scout Spirit at camp-wide programs and activities •Provide First Aid in the event of participant or staff injuries •Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area •Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership •Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications & Training •18 years of age or older •Comfortable speaking in front of groups of youth and adults •Previous boating experience recommended •Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination •Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America Performance Results •Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant •Contribute at least one improvement to Aquatics program operations •Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants •Complete contract period with 2-4 positive experiences Physical Requirements •Multiple hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, or paddling and ability to lift 50 lbs. •Can pass the physical exam and approved for SBR height and weight requirements Uniform Summit staff uniform Housing 10x12' Platform Tent; Staff Camp Expected Weekly Hours 45 - 55
