Description
Job Summary
Under direction of the Safety Director, provides guidance and support for all employee to ensure compliance with local, State, and Federal regulations regarding safety and health. Responds to and assists with critical incidents that involve employees. The Safety Manager enforces all Digging & Rigging policies and procedures as such.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, pointedly OSHA 1926; local and State safety regulations; Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA); and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Ability to conduct employee trainings in First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other trainings as needed. Must be highly motivated and able to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work under pressure effectively, adapt to an ever-changing schedule in a fast-paced environment, and ability to lift and carry equipment. Demonstrates strong customer focus skills, effective documentation, team work, detail-oriented, and communication skills. Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.
Education, Training, and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of five years of safety experience. Must have OSHA 500 and 510 and First Aid and CPR instructor certifications. Possession of a valid class C driver’s license. Experience in the general maintenance of grounds and equipment with experience in industry experience preferred. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform in the position may be considered.
