OCH Technologies, LLC is Hiring a Senior Network Engineer Near Warrenton, VA
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining operational networks at various FAA sites and must understand and have experience with National Airspace System networks. Responsible for designing, maintaining, and resolving network-related issues in a large-scale environment.
Candidate must have 15 years of experience in network and IT, in addition to the requirements below.
- Experience with NAS systems and large-scale environments
- Experience managing and interfacing with NIPRNET, FAA networks
- Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), web-based applications
- Strong background in network administration and architecture, knowledge of network and telecom systems, LAN and WAN experience
- Experience with network design, implementation, hardware configuration, and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of network protocols, network operating systems, and network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
- Experience following CM processes for operational environments, repair & replace faulty systems, patching, installation, Continuity of Operations & Disaster Recovery procedures, preventative maintenance, etc.
- Experience maintaining network and system documentation
- Experience with annual Authorization to Operate testing, documentation, and procedures
- Good understanding and experience with multiple network operating systems (NX-OS, IOS, and TMSH).
- Solid team member able to work with or without supervision in fast-paced environments.
- Possesses analytical skills, strategic planning, critical assessments, and cognitive competencies in problem-solving.
- Substantive technical knowledge and expertise in design, management, monitoring, and evaluation of data streams in multiple environments such as Fiber Optics and Copper.
- CCNA/CCNP or F5-CA preferred
- Provide guidance to team members and facilitate cross-group coordination and collaboration
- Responsible for maintaining LAN/WAN services and connectivity.
- Monitor network and systems health, responding appropriately to network alerts and events.
- 24-Hour support to the critical production operation environment.
- After-hours support for scheduled maintenance for upgrades and enhancement within the systems, databases, and network infrastructure.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintain redundancy across the network and identify areas of inefficiency.
- Adhere to Change Control procedures and plan implementations around existing maintenance windows.
- Provide documentation of projects and installations.
- Maintain and deploy policy changes to firewalls and load balancers.
- Incident and request Management.
- Design and implementation of network equipment and technologies.
- Maintain and update network gear OS and patch updates to prevent vulnerabilities.
- Provide Network support for IT projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Science
- Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Outlook.
- Provide expertise and assistance with proposal efforts
- Candidate must have the ability to hold and maintain a Public Trust
- On-site at FAA’s Air Traffic Control System Command Center in Warrenton, VA
