Job Description Type: Med/Surg/Tele

Location: Fort Dodge, IA

Fidé is currently seeking an RN with Med/Surg/Tele experience for a 13-week contract in Fort Dodge, IA

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a telemetry setting, utilizing advanced monitoring technology to assess and monitor patients' conditions.
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and neurological assessments, to detect any changes in condition and respond promptly.
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on health management, medications, and post-discharge care instructions to promote optimal recovery and wellness.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practice standards to deliver high-quality, safe patient care.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care delivery.
- Stay current on best practices, guidelines, and regulations in telemetry nursing to enhance professional knowledge and skills, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Minimum Requirements: The following experience is required: 2 years of current Med/Surg/Tele experience. 2 years current experience in PCU, Cardiac/Tele or Stepdown – Required. Travel experience strongly encouraged. Experience with tele strips including cardiac. BSN strong encouraged. Busy Unit. Need a strong & confident Nurse that can hit the ground running without issue! EMR - EPIC
Unit is a mix of medical, surgical, telemetry, “PCU” patients, and observation patients

Nurse: Patio ratio
Days: 1:4-5
Nights: 1-5-6

Compliance Credentials Needed for Submission:

• Current IA RN License – compact allowed
• Current AHA BLS
• Current AHA ACLS
• COVID Vaccination Card, no exemptions allowed
• Skills Checklist from within the past 12 months
• Resume
• Two Supervisory References from the past two years of employment

Hours Per Week: 36
Shift: Nights 7p-7a
Weekends: TBD including holiday rotation
