Serve as an integral member of the Student Success Center team working to increase retention, success, and degree completion through working with students directly and collaborating with faculty and staff across campus. Success Coaches implement a holistic and strengths-based coaching model to guide students throughout their time at Meredith College and develop and maintain connection/communication with a cohort of students through targeted, preemptive, and continuous outreach.

Duties:
- Utilize strengths-based coaching principles and understanding of StrongPoints® to provide academic, personal, and co-curricular coaching/advising through one-on-one and group appointments
- Identify goals and aid students in developing customized educational plans (Plan & Finish) to achieve them.
- Engage students through a schedule of targeted activities and communications, called touchpoints, aimed to increase student connectedness.
- Design and implement workshops and teach credit-bearing classes for students based on best practices for student success in executive functioning, including time management, communication strategies, and self-regulation/efficacy.
- Serve as the recovery coach for students who are not in good academic standing.
- Assist students in understanding their strengths and developing them through curricular and co-curricular experiences.
- Prompt students to reflect upon the integration of a liberal arts education, their strengths, major/minor aspirations, and personal interests.
- Facilitate communication between various resources (e.g. Learning Center, Office of Career Planning, faculty advising, StrongPoints®, Disability Services, Counseling Center, Financial Assistance, etc.) to promote team-based student support.
- Utilize emerging technologies for maintaining contact with students and demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies as opportunities arise.
- Continue to develop professionally by participating in institutional, regional, or national organizations for student success.
- Work with faculty and staff across campus to support student success.
- Partner with the Director of the Student Success Center to assess the success coaching program and continue to evolve our retention strategies for students.
- Other administrative duties as assigned, which may include:
o Maintain and use the referral service for campus, possibly serving as system administrator.
o Collect, analyze, and report on data related to student success on our campus.
o Train and supervise student volunteers or student workers within the Student Success Center.
o Serve as the advisor for student organizations.
o Serve on college committees, especially to promote equity work for the Student Success Center.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or related Certificate in Counseling, Student Development, Higher Education, or closely related field
- Experience in academic affairs, higher education, counseling or a related field.
- Knowledge of Gallup Strengths or other coaching methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:
- Coaching certification
