Uncover, collect, manage, analyze and distribute information on alumnae, parents, friends, other individuals, corporations, and foundations which are currently or potentially important to the Meredith College Institutional Advancement program.

Duties:
- Works within the framework of the College’s Mission Statement and the strategic plan, develops and implements ongoing, effective and measurable donor prospect research.
- Compiles and disseminates information in various formats as needed by the President, Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Director of Development, faculty, Institutional Advancement staff, Executive Leadership Team, and volunteers, responding in a timely manner to requests. Manages data and updates comprehensive summary reports which include biographical, philanthropic, and financial information.
- Plans for, acquires, and manages prospect research resources needed to deliver sophisticated donor research, including on-line access to electronic databases. Reviews news articles and business periodicals. Communicates on a regular basis with internal and external sources to obtain specific information.
- Identifies and evaluates prospects to determine financial means, ability to give and potential interest in Meredith College, and makes recommendations regarding solicitation based on current records and new research. In consultation with gift officer colleagues, determines solicitation level for annual and capital gifts and enters ratings on appropriate computer screens. Reviews and revises solicitation as needed.
- Directs and manages prospect management. Coordinates weekly meetings of gift officers, compiles and works with gift officers to analyze reports and provide follow-up to gift officers. Works with the director of advancement services to develop and implement a stewardship plan.
- Serves as information repository and resource center for information provide by gift officers on donor cultivation, involvement, and solicitation. Works with departmental assistants to ensure that RE updates other pertinent information are appropriately recorded for future reference.
- Works with Director of Advancement Services and Gift Records Coordinator on donor related concerns.
- Pursues professional development to keep pace with demands for services and information, including maintaining up-to-date information about the department and college.
- Communicates openly and recognizes the contributions of co-workers and supervisor.
- Completes performance review process with supervisor to understand job performance expectations and how they fit into the department and College goals.
- Performs other duties and special projects including Campaign for Meredith projects as assigned by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement in support of the goals and objectives of the Advancement Division.

Skills Needed:- Prospect research skills and experience, preferably acquired through previous experience in similar position.
Strong organizational, research, and analytical skills; experience with computer and electronic databases; understanding of business and financial markets.
- Ability to write and speak well, and to relate with ease to people of wide-ranging backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet realistic deadlines, and operate within specific budget restraints.
- Efficiency with Raiser’s Edge.
- Understanding of how the research process enhances other development efforts and contributes to the successful advancement of the College.
- Familiarity with higher education and single gender education.

Key interfaces:
- Works extensively with gift officers and other constituencies when appropriate.

Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, with 5 years fundraising or related experience preferred, with extensive research experience.
- Must have a valid North Carolina driver’s license and a clean driving history.

Working conditions & physical demands:
- General office setting with moderate noise level.
- Must be able to work irregular hours, including year-end.
