About the Job

Marcon Metal USA (www.marconmetalfab.com) is hiring a Shop Support Coordinator to join our growing and dynamic team, based out of Ferndale. This position will support the Production Foreman and Processing Lead by triaging job duties and materials throughout the processing, production, and shipping process.

About the Position:

Under the direction of the Production Foreman and in collaboration with the Shop Foreman and Processing Lead, the Shop Support Coordinator will:

  • Follow instructions provided by Production Foreman and Processing Lead to facilitate and complete work through the shop, from intake of materials through the outbound shipping process.
  • Provides materials and/or supplies to workstations with forklifts, hand trucks, and carts as needed.
  • Ensure all materials have been labelled and stored in the appropriate area.
  • Ensure all materials are prepared for shipment by verifying quantities and creating material tags.
  • Clean steel with a grinder and use basic power/air tools.
  • Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in the shop and yard.
  • Direct and help to train new shop support employees in the company’s practices and procedures.
  • Complete assigned tasks with high-quality results and in assigned time frames.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Forklift certified – Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in a shop environment using power/air tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear instructions and feedback to team members.
  • Ability to work collectively in a team, and follow instructions provided by the Production Foreman and Processing Lead.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to correctly count and maintain materials and inventory.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent attendance is required.

Shift available:

  • 1st (Day) Shift - Monday to Friday (Five 8-Hour shifts with 30-minute unpaid lunch) - 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
