McCallum Rock Drilling is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Chehalis, WA

McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988. MRD operates in commercial quarries, timberlands and construction sites throughout the Western US.

McCallum Rock Drilling is seeking a Full-Time Equipment Operator that will be based in Chehalis, WA. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for properly and safely operating an excavator, front end loader, and training how to operate and maintain the rock crusher. This position is for someone who has some experience in dirt work, equipment operation, and/or rock crushing. We are searching for a safety conscious and productive operator who takes pride in the work being performed. Applicants must have a clean driving record, must pass a pre-employment drug screen, and must have a clean criminal background. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Perform pre and post inspections on the machine
  • Safely and productively operate heavy equipment 
  • Comply with all safety regulations and company policies 
  • Perform site work in accordance with job specifications (excavation, digging, rock hammering, loading trucks, operating crusher) 
  • Perform light maintenance on machine (fluids, greasing, hydraulic fluids, etc.)
  • Conduct yourself professionally on all job sites in front of customers, co-workers, inspectors
  • Complete timesheets and other reports in a timely manner
  • Keep work area and equipment maintained and as tidy as possible 

Skills and Qualifications include: 

  • Basic knowledge of how excavators, loaders, and crushers operate and how to repair and maintain
  • Must have strong mechanical knowledge 
  • Must be flexible and willing to work long days 
  • Must be willing to work out of town (Commute to Bremerton, WA job site daily)
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills 
  • Good problem solving skills 
  • Safety conscious
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Motivated, reliable, and takes initiative
