McCallum Rock Drilling (MRD) is a rock drilling and blasting contractor based out of Chehalis, WA, that has been in business since 1988. MRD operates in commercial quarries, timberlands and construction sites throughout the Western US. 

MRD is seeking a full-time Shop Hand to report to our Salem, Oregon location. The ideal candidate will provide assistance for a variety of tasks and provide support to the diesel mechanics. The Shop Hand may also be asked to perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and shop. The applicant must have a clean driving record and will be expected to pass a pre-employment drug screening test. 

Minimum Responsibilities include: 

• Must follow all MRD safety policies and procedures
• Attend and participate in weekly safety meetings 
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment 
• Assist diesel mechanics as needed 
• Pressure wash drills, trucks, and other equipment
• Organize inventory and supplies 
• Occasional delivery of supplies and parts to operators in the field 
• Ability to pick up supplies and parts at nearby stores
• Basic maintenance of pickup trucks and equipment a plus 
• Welding experience a plus 

Minimum Requirements include: 

• High School Diploma 
• Attention to detail is essential 
• Must have good common sense 
• Must be flexible to work on various tasks as required 
• Must have a valid driver's license 
• Ability to take and follow instructions 
• Willing to work in outside and inside environments 
• Must be a team player
