As a Test Engineer , you will be responsible for the engineering validation testing and experimental testing in the laboratory. You will design test methods, procedures, and test apparatuses or systems, perform testing, and direct lab technicians in conduct of testing.

This role is subject to our hybrid work model: we collaborate in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The rest of the week, you have flexibility to work wherever it suits you best.

What Youll Do

• Supporting test programs for: Design Validation, Performance Evaluation and Component Selection
• Prepare test plans, test procedures, and test reports to demonstrate compliance to product design and system requirements.
• Execute all testing according to standards and test request
• Identify functional problems and suggest solutions, if necessary; modify test plan to learn the most from testing (working with requestor).
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable (ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL series and other) standards
• Drive design of experiments mind set for testing as required, especially when trial and error testing is called for.
• Participate in laboratory Gemba (managing for daily improvement) in laboratory task workflows
• Perform failure diagnostic or forensic activities as appropriate, or work with 3rd party for failure analysis to arrive at root cause of problems.
• Assist with lab 5S standards according to lean engineering methodology
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure project goals are met

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge of design of experiments methods is required
• Knowledge of measurement uncertainty principles is desired
• Experience with root cause analysis methods such as fishbone/ishikawa, is-is not, 5 way desired
• Experience with PLC, Arduino, or similar a plus
• Experience with any and all manner of laboratory equipment a plus (microscopes, oscilloscopes, hardness testers, voltmeter, and similar)
• Understanding or education in statistical tools and techniques is desired
