JOB SUMMARY:

Assistant Superintendents assist the Superintendent in overseeing all parts of building, such as communicating updates to project owners, ensuring the safety of coworkers and subcontractors, and managing the budget/schedule of the project.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in assessing project costs by evaluating weekly labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Collaborate with the safety department and project management team to ensure that safety policies and procedures are being maintained.
• Solve problems and conflicts. Use proper documentation to report incidents.
• Oversee productivity and quality control to stay within budget. Refer to schedule to ensure project is completed in timely manner. Report updates to management team under direction of superintendent.
• Manage subcontractor progress.
• Attend weekly project meetings with superintendent and project team.
• Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures along field personnel and subcontractors.
• Step in for superintendent on other responsibilities as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, preferred.
• 5 years experience in construction field, preferred. Experience in multifamily industry.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented.
• Potential Physical Demands: Ability to work long hours. Ability to perform outdoor tasks in extreme weather conditions. Ability to see and respond to potentially dangerous situations. Ability to walk up and down stairs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
