US District of Columbia Courts is Hiring a Quality Assurance Supervisor Near Washington, DC

Duties

Brief Description of Duties:

  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates vital administrative, managerial, and supervisory programs and functions to fulfill the Courts’ strategic plan and to enhance the operational efficiency of the Superior Court in Civil matters.
  • Assists the Branch Supervisor with managing the day-to-day unit operations to meet the tactical objectives and key performance indicator targets derived from the division’s Management Action Plan (MAP) and the Court’s Strategic Plan
  • Monitors and processes cases to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Makes recommendations to the Branch Supervisor for new initiatives and improvements, including implementing best practices, business processes, and standard operating procedures for efficient operations and effective customer service.
  • Submits reports to the Branch Supervisor pertaining to caseload errors, management action plan objectives, key performance indicators, and personnel actions; all of which may be statistical, narrative, or advisory in nature.
  • Manages unit staffing and logistics to ensure effective operations and a safe work environment.
  • Provides direct supervision to staff. Plans, delegates, and evaluates work to be accomplished by subordinates; and sets and adjusts work priorities.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach toward employee performance management, including developing and implementing performance plans and evaluations, providing continuous feedback and coaching, and encouraging staff recognition.
  • Documents and addresses staff performance promptly and issues corrective actions, as needed, in accordance with Court policy and division procedures and standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma/GED plus six (6) years of clerical or administrative experience in a court, legal, or office environment, including a minimum of one (1) year as a supervisor.

Graduation from the Courts’ Management Training Program may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience (You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application.
Education Substitution:
An associate's degree plus four (4) years of clerical or administrative experience in a court, legal, or office environment, including a minimum of one (1) year as a supervisor or successful completion of the Courts' Management Training Program.
A bachelor's degree plus (2) years of clerical or administrative experience in a court, legal, or office environment, including a minimum of one (1) year as a supervisor or successful completion of the Courts' Management Training Program.

A master's degree plus (1) year of clerical or administrative experience in a court, legal, or office environment, including a minimum of one (1) year as a supervisor or successful completion of the Courts' Management Training Program.

Most military, federal and District of Columbia government service counts toward the time required to go into the next higher annual leave category. Employees can carry over no more than 240 hours of annual leave into the next leave year.
    Sick Leave is used for personal medical needs, care of a family member, or adoption related purposes. Full-time employees earn four(4)hours of sick leave biweekly. This leave can be accrued without limit.

    In addition to the federal health plans, the DC Courts offer employees supplemental vision and dental plans as well as a commuter transit benefit subsidy, for a maximum of $150 a month. There are 26 pay periods in the year.
