Position Description:
The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing clinical therapy services to children and youth, and individuals who have experienced such victimizations as abuse/neglect and/or homelessness. The Mental Health
Clinician will engage clients in the therapeutic process to increase emotional stability, holistic wellness, and overall mental health functioning, aiming in the healing process, reducing vulnerability to future victimization(s), and reducing long term psychological effects. This position requires knowledge of trauma and its impact on child development, comprehensive understanding of cultural humility, upholding ethical and legal responsibility as it pertains to California Statutes.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Direct Services

• Provides comprehensive mental health assessments, screenings, develops diagnostic process, develops treatment plans and goals based on assessed areas, diagnostical findings, of needs and strengths. Monitors and evaluates client’s progress on identified goals in the treatment plan and makes adjustments as needed.
• Completes all required documentation in a timely manner for each assigned client and maintains a comprehensive set of treatment records.
• Provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and families.

Administrative

• Executes comprehensive and detailed documentation, and performs other administrative tasks as necessary, to support both program operations and role responsibilities, including but not limited to, clinical documentation of client interactions, mental status examinations, assessments, diagnostics, treatment plans and progress notes.
• Clinical documentation must be completed within 24 hours of services, clinical files and data must be organized and compliant with internal standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of all client information by upholding legal and ethical standards. Section 56 of the
• California Civil Code, otherwise known as the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, describes confidentiality and its various exceptions, under California law.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree.
• CA LMFT/LCSW or license eligible
• Competent with Trauma Informed Care
• Displays cultural and racial humility.
• Successful completion of Victim Assistance Training for domestic violence and sexual assault within one year of hire.
• Fingerprint clearance required.
• Adhere to Board of Behavioral Science regulations and to the ethical standards of each discipline’s professional association (BBS, CAMFT, NASW).
• Pre-licensed eligible (registered with BBS, as AMFT, ASW or APCC)
• licensed (LMFT, LCSW, Or LPCC)
• Reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s License, and proof of insurance.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Must be able to ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs throughout a typical workday.
