Duties

As an Inspector, you will:

  • Assist and support evaluations and assessments of IT and cybersecurity programs to determine compliance with applicable legislation and Federal regulation.
  • Ensure effective communication with assigned staff to keep the inspection on track and foster positive, productive, and effective working relationships.
  • Effectively apply established CADA policies, procedures, and professional inspection standards.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and concise communication, including verbal briefings, written summaries, reports, and correspondence to internal and external customers.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • This employer participates in the e-Verify program.

  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by a background investigation.

  • This position is a drug testing designated position and is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This position requires a Critical Sensitive Q (Top Secret) Clearance. The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Q Security Clearance.
  • Will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience for the GS-7 Grade Level is defined as: one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level of federal service or equivalent demonstrating an ability to research, analyze, communicate and/or work as a team. Specialized experience must reflect all the following:

  • Conduct research of topics and communicate the results of the research either orally or in writing.
  • Participate with others as part of a team to meet a common goal.
  • Advise other members of a team or superiors on potential decisions.

OR
One full year (18 semester hours) of successfully completed graduate level education if the coursework is directly related to the work of the position.
OR
Superior academic achievement
OR
Combination of graduate level education that is directly related to the position and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

Specialized experience for the GS-9 Grade Level is defined as: one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level of federal service or equivalent assisting with examinations under close supervision in inspection of programs, management systems, and activities. Specialized experience must reflect all the following:
  • Review and evaluate the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the performance by assisting with inspections or evaluations of programs, organizations, management systems, and activities.
  • Implement approved techniques in gathering, documenting, analyzing, and summarizing inspection or evaluation evidence that is sufficient and appropriate for the objective.
  • Assist the project leader in identifying potential findings and their root cause with recommendations to appropriate officials.
OR
A Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
An appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level).

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.

Education

Accreditation: Only education from an accredited college or university recognized by the Department of Education is acceptable to meet education requirements or to substitute for experience, if applicable. Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs. An official transcript must be sent directly from the University's Registrar's office and must be provided from the institution awarding the degree.
