Thank you for your interest in employment with the Town of Gorham!The Town of Gorham’s Public Works Department is accepting applications for several temporary seasonal positions to work in the spring and summer months. The hours may include up to 40 hours a week and the possibility of some night and weekend work. Seasonal work may start as early as May 1st and end as late as September 1st. If you are looking to gain valuable work experience, or bridge gaps in current employment, this is an excellent opportunity.
Active individuals who enjoy working outdoors will help maintain the Town’s municipal properties including athletic fields, parks, cemeteries, trails and buildings. Qualified individuals will have demonstrated experience using typical landscaping tools, such as a weed whacker, lawn mower and gardening tools. Candidates should also be familiar with use of light carpentry equipment such as hand drills, circular saw and other minor tools, and possess a working knowledge of trail work. Duties will also include assisting in the repair of roads including patching; and transporting dirt, gravel, wood and construction materials.
